
Dr. Engelman was born and raised in Kansas City. She graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School. She went to Colorado College where she majored in Neuroscience. After college, she attended Kirksville College of Osteopathy in Missouri (ATSU) where she dove into her passion of healing. She met her future husband there and the two left to do their residencies together in Michigan. After completion of residency, she practiced as a Hospitalist for a year at the University of Michigan Health-West Hospital and then moved home to KC to complete her Rheumatology Fellowship (completed in June 2015). Rheumatology is her passion.
She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. She currently resides on the Medical Executive Staff at St Lukes on the plaza and is a Board of Directors for St. Luke’s Hospital on the plaza.
Dr. Engelman has three children: Jack, Lucile and Samuel. Her husband, Dr. Peter Engelman, is an OB-GYN at North Kansas City Hospital. They love to travel together. She is an avid runner & loves to exercise. One of her favorite hobbies is the flying trapeze and getting on her Peloton. She also loves a great work out.
